I don't have a PayPal Account

I'm going to show you how to set up your PayPal account. Setting up a PayPal account is simple, but has a few steps involved. I'll outline the steps.

If you're under the age of 18, please have your parents help you with creating a PayPal account.

Step 1 - Signing Up

Click the link below to go to PayPal and create an account. Please follow the steps on this page.

Select an Account Type

Select your country and your language from the drop down menus. Then select a Personal type of PayPal account. If the Get Started button is greyed out, click somewhere on the screen to get the page to reload the info. When you pick from the menus, PayPal has to update the page.

Step 2 - Enter your Contact Information

Enter your information into all the fields of this form (leave the optional ones empty). Your password needs to be more than 8 characters in length - write it down! If you're under 18 - you should have your parents fill out this information in one of their names. PayPal won't let you create an account if you're under the age of 18. Also, make sure you type your email address correctly!

Step 3 - Select how you want to pay with PayPal

PayPal needs what is called a funding source. If you have no money in your PayPal account, and you buy something (like a domain name, or you're billed for monthly web hosting) PayPal needs to collect the money somehow. So PayPal gives you two options to put money into your PayPal account - bank account, or credit card.

If you have a bank account and want to connect it to PayPal, choose the Bank Account option.

If you have a credit card, or a credit card gift card, and want to connect it to PayPal - choose credit card.

I like the credit card gift card option because I can buy these gift cards like MyTreat Visa or Vanilla Mastercard (see sample)at 7-11 or any convenience store for $25 value and higher.

Step 4 - Check your Email

Congratulations! You have a free Personal PayPal account. In order to start using your account to buy a domain name and web hosting for your online game, you'll need to verify your PayPal account. Check your email for an email from PayPal. In this email is a Link Now button.

Note: I set up my account with a $25 Vanilla mastercard gift card. I'm not sure what happens if you use your bank account. I can't set up an account to test because I only have one bank account. I think you may get a similar email asking you to provide PayPal with some secret question info.

Another Note: PayPal is big on verifying you lots - so they will ask for you to add a credit card, if you first added your bank account - and vice versa. Don't worry about this for now. Your PayPal account is set up, you have one funding source - let's keep going!
